Epsom and Ewell’s Age Concern are on a mission to #LimitLoneliness amongst the local older community – and they have been for over 70 years. How? By offering a befriending service, in which locals volunteer an hour or two of their time to visit a socially isolated and elderly member of our community.
This Christmas, Age Concern have teamed up with sixth form students of Epsom and Ewell High School to create a video campaign for The Big Give Christmas Challenge. What’s this, we hear you ask? During The Big Give Christmas Challenge, any donations made by us to help support the befriending service will be doubled. Yes, that’s right, doubled!
In this video campaign, students had the opportunity to speak to individuals involved in the befriending service. From dedicated volunteer, Amanda, to 99 year-old Richard, life-long Epsom & Ewell local and client of the befriending service. Want to give it a watch? Find it here.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge runs from 12pm on 3 Dec to 12pm on 10 Dec. So, save your pennies or pounds, and donate during The Big Give to raise double the donation using the link here.
